About Phil Bean

Phil has exhibited in juried shows throughout New England as well as nationally. He is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society & a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association & the Sharon Arts Center.

Phil considers landscapes and classic architecture as his main subjects. He considers mood, atmosphere and light the important aspects that he seeks to capture in his works. For watercolor he employs various techniques, including wet-in-wet, color mixing on the painting surface and drybrush. Working with oils, both brush and painting knife techniques are used.
