Clouded Peaks

by Phil Bean on May 3, 2010

“Clouded Peaks” An original oil on canvas  11×14.  I liked the effect of the lost and found edges of the mountain interacting with the clouds. It came about while quickly developing that area with the painting knife. I decided to leave it alone and not to overwork it. I find that there are times during the painting process when it is difficult to recapture certain effects that are lost while trying to improve on them. The entire painting was finished using only the painting knife.
